Beyond blasting detonations disturbing structures/foundations and wildlife; toxic emissions filling airways and lungs; and diesel fuel saturating the air. . .there will be beauty and serenity disappearing from the Little River Valley.
The majestic displays of color when the sun peaks through the valley’s horizon—as herds of deer graze in clouds of fog—is breathtaking.
I’ve made futile attempts at capturing the essence of such magnificence throughout the years; but human expressions are bound by moral limitations.
The Little River Valley, affectionately known as “God’s country” to many, is a place of beauty and serenity in the midst of an ugly and chaotic world.
We must preserve it from destruction.
Quarry blasts and toxic emissions don’t belong here.
“Is it possible to make visible the atmosphere of the secret place where I go to commune with the Lover of my soul?
This place transcends mere religion as a duty to perform for Deity.
It is the sanctuary of beauty, serenity, and joy in the midst of an ugly and chaotic world.
A place where I become fully alive and can touch, for a fleeting moment, the glory of the majestic beyond this life.”
